Montreal is a very metropolitan, clean city.
We didnt have much time here because we wanted to get Quebec City, but are favorite
part of the city was the old section. Its a lot like Europe with bustling plaza
surrounding by barouche style architecture. The old section was pretty small comparatively
to Quebec City so if you had to choose between the two I would recommend skipping Montreal
and heading straight over to Quebec City.
At this point Franks ankle was killing from our last 10 mile race in New York that
he wasnt much in the mood to tour the city. So we sat in the plaza at a local café
and ordered a pitcher of sangria and played numerous games of chess. We played a lot of
chess on our trip. Inevitably Frank would beat me miserably. Although being the determined
person that I am Ill never quite until I can beat him.
Square in old town street performers:
Montreal definitely has some of the best food in all of North America probably due to the
French influence. Any restaurant you walk into you simply cant go wrong, although I
do recommend going French, when in Rome.
