We arrived in Houston just in time to catch
a game in the new "Enron" Stadium. Ellen's good college friend, Erin and
family met us for a night of fun watching the Astros shine. The stadium is actually
called "The Astros" due to the big fall of Enron. It's eerie in a way
sitting in this beautiful, new stadium thinking about all the crooks who sold their soul.
The rules there are pretty strict ironically, you're not allowed to bring in your own
peanuts!! Frank brought a huge bag of fresh peanuts that we bought in Georgia to enjoy
that they made us throw out. Before the game
we sat outside the ballpark drinking iced tea and beer eating these amazing cheese fries
waiting for Erin's family to arrive. It was fun people-watching and talking to
strangers. The people in Houston are by far the most friendliest people we have
encountered thus far. It was amazing how many new people became our best friends in
that short time. We also noticed that Texans are extremely tall and most of them
blondes, whether fake or not. Everywhere you looked!!"
After the game, we came back to Erin's household also
know as "Paul and Linda's hotel." We spent the night drinking
freshly-squeezed, lime margaritas, Paul's specialty while hanging out in the hot tub
catching up on old times. We always have a blast with their family!! They are fun,
personable people.
The next morning, Mrs. Yerby (AKA Linda) cooked us all a
delicious breakfast. What a way to start the morning especially when you've been
used to cereal bars. She also fed us her special brownies. They're actually not
brownies, but these healthy bars that are supposed to supress your hunger by putting
mineral powder and all kinds of healthy things that we need everyday. The rest of the day
we relaxed in the pool, played volleyball and just goofed around. We were surely sad to
leave when the time finally came. |

Time for a
quick swim and some volleyball at the Yerby's house before we hit the road for Austin.
