DURHAM, NC

...
Laid back and lemonade ... that's what comes to mind when we think Durham, NC. The home of the Duke Blue Devils, also the home of our dear friend Erin Yerby :)

Erin and her boyfriend Dan gave us a grand tour of the a place Poppa Loughan would have fallen in love with ... the Duke Gardens. In full bloom, we picnicked under a grand gazebo. The gardens stretched on for acres upon acres with scattered students seen sun-bathing while studying for final exams. The gardens themselves were filled with just about every plant life imaginable and were as delightful as our conversation with Erin and Dan.

Sappy, but true.

Downtown Durham has a plethora of character defined by coffee shops, new-age stores, and cute boutiquettes. It's separated from the main business downtown, which makes it feel more like a college town atmosphere.

ps. We're looking forward to seeing Erin again in Houston with her folks.

Hangin' out with Nina (doggie on the left), Dan, Erin and Ellie. The Duke gardens rocked and the homemade lemonade was ultra refreshing! :)
